Our high today looks to be 99 up here, but it has gotten cloudy and thundery and the temperature has dropped. I rode my bike just before noon and it was HOT.

Mark - Those thunderstorms refused to go past I-85 on Saturday, so it remained hot here. And yesterday did get up to 101. I guess the welcome development in the last day or so is that it will only getup to the mid 90s today and tomorrow, with some of those thunderstorms, maybe.

It was supposed to be cooler but no sooner had I written that, the forecast was changed to 99F high for today. Piss. It’s already 97F, at 12:30. I just got back from taking our tanker for pump tests, done on a small lake ten miles away. We were all sweating away, even at 11am. No complaints about the heat, and they’re going to be doing it for scheduled county trucks all day.
We do still have thunderstorms for the afternoon/evening. Nothing seems to be developing at the moment, by radar.
