Noe THAT’S what I am talkin' about. Great post, great photo of those seeds, too.
That last link is pretty col, too, Wayne. I especially liked the entry about the Passiflora that has developed tiny yellow spots on its leaves to resemble butterfly eggs (frittilaries, in particular). The plant “knows” that frits won’t lay eggs on leaves already occupied thus. Too cool.
Yep. That’s why I come here. Every day. Several times a day. I sure wish we were neighbors on more than just the web, because we’d be steady blowing each others' minds with this kind of stuff.

Thanks Brian! The Passiflora story is great. Besides the plant being such a good butterfly draw anyway, almost as good as Bidens! People say, why are you planting beggar lice and weeds like that? Haven’t they ever heard of a butterfly garden?
A couple of months ago, while navigating the Caterpillar Hosts Database I started noticing how often hackberries came up - we have a lot of hackberries here. Are there any plants or plant familes that are a kind of cornucopia for lepidopterans?
Alas for would-be neighbors - Brian will have his warm fishing, despite all the touristas, and I will insist on my oak-hickory rolling hills, despite the lack of snow.
